There’s a long-running joke within the Creole community in New Orleans that everyone is related. The election of an American pope is giving the joke a fresh spin, says Father Ajani Gibson of St. Peter Claver Church.
“Everyone is the pope’s cousin,” Father Gibson said. “I hope he gets to meet all of his new cousins.”
