An Archdiocesan Commission of Black Catholic Ministry has been reestablished in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, with a mission to meet the spiritual, educational and cultural needs of African American and African diaspora communities.

Priorities include evangelization, promoting social justice and cultivating leadership, especially among young Black Catholics, its leaders said, all in alignment with Church teaching, and with initiatives of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Black Catholic Congress.
