This month we observe the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mary shows her love for God by accepting her role as Jesus’ mother. When the angel Gabriel was sent to tell Mary that she was to bear God’s son, Mary had every reason to turn down God’s offer. This situation could have costed Mary her life as an unwed woman could have been easily accused of adultery and stoned to death. However, she accepted her role despite the danger. We must have that type of love Mary has for God. No matter what hardship might come our way, we always love and trust that God would never give us anything we could not handle.
