Detroit parishes to host Sept. 1 Masses to celebrate heritage of Gospel, jazz music

Detroit parish will host a special Mass this weekend to celebrate and honor the culture of jazz and Gospel music in the Motor City.

Fr. Theodore Parker and Fr. Tyrone Robinson will celebrate the 2 p.m. Mass on Sunday, Sept. 1, at St. Moses the Black Parish, 1125 Oakman Blvd., Detroit.

The fourth annual Mass “is an example of our Catholic faith bringing richness to all areas of our lives,” according to organizers.
