Celebrating St. Martin de Porres Day at Mariandale, featuring Award-Winning Scholar Shannen Dee Williams, PhD

Celebrating the legacy of this 16th century Dominican priest and first Black saint of the Americas, Mariandale dedicates this event to education about antiracism and building an inclusive church and society.

Join us as welcome Dr. Shannen Dee Williams, Associate Professor of History at the University of Dayton. The title of her keynote address is “The Many Afterlives of Martin de Porres in the History of U.S. Black Catholic Life.”
