An opportunity for rising scholars of color to explore and pursue a call to teach.

Join us at The Forum for Theological Educators, a gathering that provides doctoral students of color with opportunities for networking, professional development, vocational exploration, and mentoring. This forum will be held in San Diego, CA, before the annual meetings of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature. FTE will cover the cost of travel, lodging, and meals for the duration of the forum.

Eligible student applicants must be:

  • Citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. and Canada. Students must also be enrolled in a PhD program in the U.S. or Canada.
  • Of African, Latino/a, Asian or First Nations descent
  • Admitted or enrolled full-time in Ph.D. or Th.D. program in religious, theological, or biblical studies
  • Within the first two years of their studies (coursework stage) at the beginning of the 2024 – 2025 academic year (September 1, 2024)
  • Present for the entire gathering in San Diego, California, from November 20 – November 22, 2024

Students enrolled in or applying to Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) programs are not eligible for this opportunity.
