Seeking: Designer, Illustrator, and Writers

Use your talent for the spiritual and cultural
formation of our youth!
NBCC seeks to hire part-time consultants--a
designer, an illustrator, and several writers-to work on the first-ever National
Black Catholic Congress' Youth Bible. St. Mary's Press, a leader in Catholic
youth publishing, is producing this unique edition, designed for American Black
Catholics, ages 14-22.
Successful candidates will have a strong
understanding of Catholicism and African American youth culture and the
following required skills:
Designer
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 3 or higher (CS3, CS4) - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator programs
- Good communication skills and easy to work with
- Ability to work within a specified budget
Illustrator
- Ability to create images based on a specified style (look and feel)
- Good communication skills and easy to work with
- Willing to be a part of our project on a work-for-hire basis and able to work within a specified budget
Writers
- Excellent writing and research skills to compose brief, engaging articles that highlight how a particular Scripture text relates to the Catholic tradition and/or to the lives of African American youth.
- Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to accept editorial critique and revise work.
- Payment based on number, length, and type of articles.
- Advanced training in theology, pastoral studies, youth ministry, or related field, preferred.
