Xavier Prep Announces New Board Chair

New Orleans, LA; October 10, 2011 - At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors for Xavier University Preparatory School, Eleanora Johnson Bazile was elected chairperson of the Xavier Prep Board of Directors. Mrs. Bazile is a 1980 graduate of Xavier Prep and recently chaired the search committee that recommended that the Board hire Joseph E. Peychaud, Jr. as the new President/Principal for Xavier Prep. She is the Field Marketing Manager for the Wendy's Company Mid-South Division.

Janice Burrell, Supervisor for the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review for the Social Security Administration and a 1957 Xavier Prep graduate, was elected Vice Chair; Sharon Carter Sheridan, a minute clerk for Orleans Parish Civil District Court and a 1966 Xavier Prep graduate, was re-elected to serve as Secretary for the Board.

Newly elected members include 1972 Xavier Prep graduate Dr. Gail Armant, a retired administrator for New Orleans Public Schools and currently CEO of Armant Consulting Services, LLC; Mrs. La Juana G. Chenier, Associate Vice President for Development/Chief of Staff at Xavier University; 1980 Xavier Prep graduate Dr. Conchetta White Fulton, Chair, Division of Clinical Administrative Sciences for the College of Pharmacy at Xavier University; Dr. Marguerite S. Giguette, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Xavier University; 1969 Xavier Prep graduate Attorney Alice J. Grooms, a law clerk in Orleans Parish Criminal Court Section G and a private practice attorney; Sr. Monica Loughlin, SBS, Director of Freshman Seminar at Xavier University; 1965 Xavier Prep graduate Carmel Collins Mire, Principal at St. Leo the Great Elementary School; and Dr. Florencia Greer Polite, Assistant Professor for the LSU Health Sciences Center's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
