Congratulations to Mary Leisring!!

Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., conferred papal honors on Mary Leisring and other laity and Deacons during an evening Mass November 7th, 2010 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver, CO.

Mary Leisring has been Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministry for the Archdiocese of Denver for 7 ½ years. She serves on the National Black Catholic Congress Board of Trustees and is a member of the National Association for Black Catholic Administrators.

In commenting on receiving the award Leisring said: "I feel that this is a recognition of the importance of evangelization in the Black Catholic Community in the Archdiocese of Denver and nationwide."

Mary is also an active member of St. Ignatius Loyola parish in Denver where she ministers as Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and coordinates the ministry of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

The bottom has the emblem of Christ in the Center with the Lambs (The People of God) drinking from the Blood of Christ.
