This willingness to engage with people of other races, creeds and ethnic origins was never more evident than when the society opened the first seminary for African Americans. Not only was the seminary established decades before the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, but it was established in the Deep South where racial segregation ran the hottest. Finding Your True Passion

Comment on Youth Articles in the forum

I got that spot as a youth representative 2 years later. I am now doing the things that I wanted to do. I just had to follow my heart, and listen to what God was calling me to do. I got the spot that I wanted for a long time and I am now using all the time I have to make Youth Ministries better in the Church.

My journey to where I am now was not easy and there are no guarantees that things would come the way you want them to be. You would have to listen to people and respect the opinions of others. I urge those people who have a passion for something not to let it pass by. To get something you would have to stand up for yourself, and not let others opinions stop you from trying to do what you feel in your heart. To find your passion is trying to find that something that lies deep within yourself. It is your decision to do something with it, or to let it slide. You can feel unsure, mad, and angry at times, but don't let that stop you when you have a deep love for something.

When I was young when someone told me to follow my heart and do what feels good to me I didn't believe them. I felt that my passion was just a phase and that what I was feeling was not my true passion. I thought it would never happen to me but, now I am following my dream becoming the Youth Representative of St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church and I can honestly say that I follow my heart and my passion.
