Institute for Black Catholic Studies

Dear Friends:

Enclosed is a general description of the courses being offered for the summer 2008 semester. Thanks to each of you who submitted your registration forms for the summer 2008 semester!

Download Institute for Black Catholic Studies Summer SchedulesMay is approaching and we are extending the pre-registration deadline to June 1st. However, we need registrations as early as possible so that the University can plan adequately for room/board and classroom accommodations. Please take the time to register for the summer 2008 semester ASAP and encourage others in your parish, congregations, organization and circle of friends to register for the summer 2008 of holistic learning at the Institute.

The Institute has been addressing many of the issues identified by the National Black Catholic Congress for over 27 years as it prepares women and men from every sector of the Catholic community to continue the evangelization and social justice Mission of Jesus Christ in today's church and society. Our goals are in harmony with the mission priorities of the pastoral plan established by the National Black Catholic Congress and many of our courses address the issues and ministerial methods that speak to the black communities concerns about action on behalf of Catholic Education, Africa, Social Justice, Racism, Youth and Young Adults, Parish Life, and HIV & AIDS.

Please see the enclosed sheet of summer 2008 course listings for an overview of this summers programs. Check our web page at www.xula.edu/IBCS for registration materials and details or call our office for more information.

Sincerely,
Sister Jamie T Phelps, O.P., Director
